This $100.00 Federal Reserve Note was once backed by Gold! The promise at the time of issue was that these notes was “redeemable in gold on demand at the United States Treasury, or in Gold or lawful money at any Federal Reserve Bank”. The promise has long been rescinded, but this note sure do represent a more fiscally sound time of our nation’s history. The note is XF/AU condition and is dated 1928.
