The history of cigar bands dates back to the 1830’s. Gustave Bock, a Dutch immigrant who owned a cigar factory in Cuba, is credited for being the first to place a paper band around his cigars for advertising purposes. As decades followed, printing methods improved and by the late 19th/early 20th century, ornate embossed bands were being made by highly regarded commercial artists. Produced in the 1910’s, we offer cigar bands recognizing our 27th President, William Howard Taft (1909-1913).
